About Danielle

Throughout her publishing career, she has edited and proofread books, journals, and magazines, in addition to writing for trade publications (Hotel Business, Hotel Business Design, HomeWorld Business) and entertainment sites (Screen Rant, TheGamer, TheTalko). She served as assistant editor on American Myths, Legends, and Tall Tales: An Encyclopedia of American Folklore and editorial assistant on The Goddess: Myths of the Great Mother. Currently, she works as a proofreader at an academic press that publishes a scholarly journal, historical monographs, and research projects.

Her creative writing has been recognized for honors in fiction. She received an honorable mention in the 2025 Spring Fling Contest, became a prize winner in the 2024 #50PreciousWords contest, and was selected for the 2023 Write Team Mentorship Program. In 2015, two of her short stories—“Pariah,” a work of historical fiction, and “Sweet Nothings,” a YA thriller—were published in The Mercury literary magazine. Vignettes from “Pariah” went on to win The Mercury Fiction Prize and a Stephen Crane Fiction Prize.

In 2022, she established a virtual critique group with aspiring authors across the country in order to connect them with the resources and community they need to succeed. The group meets monthly to workshop submissions, which range from middle grade to women’s fiction.
