About Danielle
Throughout her publishing career, Danielle has edited and proofread books, journals, and magazines, in addition to writing for trade publications (Hotel Business, Hotel Business Design, HomeWorld Business) and entertainment sites (Screen Rant, TheGamer, TheTalko). She served as assistant editor on American Myths, Legends, and Tall Tales: An Encyclopedia of American Folklore and editorial assistant on The Goddess: Myths of the Great Mother. Currently, she works as a proofreader at an academic press.
Her creative writing has been recognized across categories, from historical fiction to children’s literature. Recent accolades include an honorable mention in the 2025 Spring Fling Kidlit Contest, a prize in the 2024 #50PreciousWords challenge, and acceptance into the 2023 Write Team Mentorship Program. Earlier in her career, her short stories “Pariah” and “Sweet Nothings” were published in The Mercury literary magazine. Excerpts from Pariah earned both The Mercury Fiction Prize and a Stephen Crane Fiction Prize.
In 2022, she founded a virtual critique group to connect writers across the country, offering them a supportive space to grow their craft through feedback, resources, and encouragement. She leads the group’s monthly workshops, where members share and refine their works in progress, ranging from middle grade to women’s fiction. The group has become a collaborative community where aspiring authors strengthen their stories while fostering meaningful connections on the path to publication.
